Paul Cartledge, emeritus A G Leventis Professor of Greek Culture at Cambridge University and Senior Research Fellow at Clare has been nominated for an honorary doctorate by the School of Philology which is part of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the largest University in Greece.

Paul has written and edited over 20 books on Ancient Greece, many of which have been translated into several languages. He is an honorary citizen of modern Sparta and holds the Gold Cross of the Order of Honour awarded by the President of Greece.

Congratulations to Paul, whose latest accolade will be conferred in May 2024.
