Last month, Loretta Minghella was installed as a Lay Canon of Ely Cathedral during an Evensong ceremony. In her new role, she will act as an ambassador for the cathedral, contributing to its governance and supporting its mission. Lay Canons play a key role in overseeing the work of the cathedral, ensuring its values and operations align with the wider community. 

Ely Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of Ely and the mother church of over 300 parishes (including those in the city of Cambridge) that make up the Diocese of Ely.
