A weekend of rowing brilliance
The Boat Race now spans 185 years of rivalry. The Men’s Boat Race was first raced in 1829 and is now one of the world’s oldest and most famous amateur sporting events. The Women’s Boat Race first took place in 1927.
On Friday, the 2024 Lightweights Boat Race was won by both Cambridge crews – the men, featuring Clare PhD student Sam Taylor (2019), chalked up their 3rd consecutive win, and the women their 5th.
On Saturday, both Cambridge boats won their races – and what a thrilling pair of contests it was!
Well done to everyone involved for their fantastic efforts.
