Biography

Ed’s research at the WT-MRC Institute of Metabolic Science focuses on understanding the influence of obesity and diabetes on neurodegenerative process in the brain and susceptibility to dementia, with the aim of identifying tractable drug targets. He supervises for Neurobiology 1B at Clare and is also a Postdoctoral Teaching Associate (PDTA) for the Department of Biochemistry.

Before this, Ed completed his PhD in Neuroscience and Biophysics at Imperial College London in 2017 with Bill Wisden and Nick Franks, focusing on the neuronal circuitry of the hypothalamus and in relation to sleep, thermoregulation and sedative drugs.
