DOUGLAS HEDLEY Philosophy of Religion
Biography
Professor Hedley studied philosophy and theology at the Universities of Oxford and Munich and in 1992 gained a doctorate in the Philosophy Faculty at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich under the supervision of Werner Beierwaltes.
Professor Hedley works on the history of philosophy and the philosophy of religion and has held visiting professorships in France, Germany, the USA, Canada and India, and is a past Secretary of the British Society for the Philosophy of Religion and past President of the European Society for the Philosophy of Religion.
Professor Hedley is the author of a number of monographs and is the Principal Investigator of a major AHRC grant 'The Cambridge Platonists at the Origins of Enlightenment’. He is the Director of the Cambridge Centre for the Study of Platonism.
