Teacher and Adviser Webinars
We run regular webinars for teachers and advisers. These are particularly aimed at those who are not able to attend our in-person Conference or who are new to the process.
This autumn, we are running two webinars, each repeated twice. Further webinars covering other topics will be added to this page throughout the academic year.
Introducing the Cambridge Admissions Process
Aimed at those with little to no experience of supporting applicants applying to Cambridge
We are running this session twice on the following dates and times:
- Tuesday 1st October, 5-6pm
- Wednesday 9th October, 4-5pm
The webinar lasts one hour with time for questions and will cover the following:
- Application timeline
- What Admissions Tutors look for at each stage of the process, including what makes a strong UCAS reference
- Common points of success and pitfalls for applications to Cambridge
- When and how to share details of extenuating circumstances
- Provision of feedback to applicants and teachers

Supporting Applicants for the Cambridge Interviews
Aimed at those with all levels of familiarity with the Cambridge admissions process. The session will outline the interview process for those new to their roles, before offering an in-depth look at the interviews and their use to Admissions Tutors.
We are running this session twice on the following dates and times:
- Thursday 17th October, 5-6pm
- Monday 11th November, 4-5pm
The webinar lasts one hour with time for questions and will cover the following:
- The role of interviews in the Cambridge admissions process
- How interviews are assessed and what a strong performance can look like
- How applicants can prepare for their interviews (in person and online)
- Reasonable adjustments
- Examples of interview questions in the Arts and Sciences

Teacher and Adviser Conference
We run a Teacher and Adviser Conference at Cambridge in the summer term every year.
The Conference is open to teachers and advisers at UK state (non fee-paying) schools. All levels of familiarity with Cambridge are welcome. The Conference is free of charge and includes lunch and refreshments.
Each Teachers' Conference begins with coffee and refreshments from 10am in the Gillespie Centre, Clare College Memorial Court.
The day includes:
- A roundtable discussion led by our Admissions Tutors
- Guidance on the application process from our Admissions Officers
- Subject sessions with Directors of Studies offering a closer look at admissions to three undergraduate courses
- An interview workshop with Admissions Tutors
- A tour of Clare College, including the Forbes Mellon Library
- Lunch and refreshments
The event concludes at 4pm.
