Ivan Lobaskin
Biography
Ivan is a multi-disciplinary scientist with interests in statistical physics and biology. He currently works in Prof Ben Simons’s group on the statistical principles underlying branching morphogenesis during human lung development. He is jointly affiliated with the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, and the Wellcome/CRUK Gurdon institute.
Ivan obtained his PhD in Physics from the University of Edinburgh under the supervision of Prof Martin R Evans. His PhD work revolved around theoretical models in statistical physics far from equilibrium, with an emphasis on exactly solvable models.
Prior to this, he obtained a BSc from University College Dublin and an MSc from the University of Oxford, both in Theoretical Physics.
