Toby Wilkinson is the Fellow for Development at Clare. Before re-joining the College in 2022 he held a series of senior leadership roles in higher education: inaugural Director of International Strategy at the University of Cambridge, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Professor of Egyptology at the University of Lincoln, and Vice-Chancellor and Professor of History at the Fiji National University. Toby was previously a Fellow of Clare from 2003 to 2017 and a Bye-Fellow from 2018 to 2022. He is an Egyptologist and the prize-winning author of 13 books which have been translated into 12 languages.
